Look What We’ve Learned

F is for fun!  This week we concentrated on the letter Ff.  We met Ms. F with her funny feet.   The students listened to Rainbow Fish by Marc Pfister.  We discussed how friends should treat each other.  The children made their own beautiful rainbow fish with one special shimmering scale and played the game of Rainbow Fish.  We learned a new song to sing at our Thanksgiving Feast. The kindergartners went fishing for letters and played Go Fish with numbers.  Our new sight word the was introduced this week.   In Math, we started Chapter 3 and focused on ordering by size, length and weight.  The kindergartners took home two books to reinforce our new sight word the.   Encourage your kindergartner to complete their homework, it is a great way to practice handwriting properly and learn letter and number identification.  Your child may mention Mack the Moose.  Mack helps up remember the rules to be safe and how to be a good friend. The highlight of the week was of course the Halloween Parade and Party.  A special thank you to our Room Parents and volunteers who made the party such a success!

Reminders

There will be no school on November 6th (Tuesday) because it is Election Day.  Our class is collecting donations for the Fall Raffle Basket.  The theme for Room P3 is Family Fun Night. Donations will be accepted until November 9th and the winner will be announced at 3PM on November 16th. Thank you for your support!    Standard Time starts this Sunday, November 4th.  Don’t forget to turn the clocks back!  There will be no school on November 12th (Veteran’s Day).  We will have our Thanksgiving Feast on November 20th   (Tuesday).   Parent conferences will be held on November 15th and 16th.  We will not have school on these days.   I will have a sign- up sheet at Conferences for items that are needed for our feast.  Conference reminder sheets are being sent home on Monday.  We do not have school on November 21st, 22nd and 23rd.    We go outside daily so dress your child accordingly for the ever-changing weather.  It is helpful to have clothing labeled. Thanks!  Looking forward to seeing all of you at Parent Conferences.   I enjoy your children every day!

Have a great weekend!           Sincerely,    Mrs. Curro
