What We’ve Learned

Gg is for gorillas, goats and guinea pigs.  This week and next we will have fun learning all about the letter Gg.  Mr. G came to visit this week, Mr. G has gooey gum in his hair! The kindergartners practiced making the uppercase and lowercase G’s in their handwriting books and ABC Journals. The children listened to the story Goodnight Gorilla.  We made our own gorillas and guinea pigs to take home.  It was great to see the students act out the story, The Three Billy Goats Gruff.  We created our own troll bridges as a STEM design.   In Math, we started Chapter 4 which focuses on counting and numbers 0 -10. We have been using magnetic letters to practice our sight words and enjoyed coloring in a sight word gumball paper. Our new sights words are we and my.  Look for these words in books and environmental print.  Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!  The children will be making place mats, pattern necklaces and hats for our Feast.

Take Note

We have several short weeks ahead so my next newsletter will go out the last week in November.  We are still going outside daily for recess, so please dress your child for the colder weather.  The winner for the PTA Raffle Basket will be drawn on November 16th at 3 PM.  Conferences are next Thursday, November 15th and Friday, November 16th.  The children do not have school on these days. I look forward to meeting with all of you. Our stuffed animal STEM day is coming up please see the enclosed flyer. There will be no school on Veteran’s Day, 11/12 (Monday).  We will have our Thanksgiving Feast on Tuesday, November 20th.  School is closed for the Thanksgiving break November 21st, 22nd and 23rd.  School will resume On Monday, November 26th.
