Welcome to Mrs. Childs' Web Page
Our class is looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing and having fun together.
Our Schedule
We
start each day with free choice activities, then we clean up and come
to the rug for calendar. At calendar we talk about our day, work on
reading and have a literacy lesson. We are also learning about the Choose Love program. Next is literacy
activities and small group lessons. After literacy we will go outside for recess. When we come back in, we will wash our hands and have snack. Next we have story time and then start our learning stations. At
stations we do handwriting, math, journals, ABC books, reading, writing, letter activities and theme activities.
Snack and Recess
We
work hard in kindergarten! Children need one healthy snack and a
small drink to keep their energy up for our busy
day! Weather permitting we will go outside to play each day. Please remember to
have your child wear appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoors. All outerwear that can be removed should have the child's name in it.
Birthdays and Special Activities
We do our best to make your child feel special on their birthday. We have some special things for your child and will sing our special birthday song. Please
do not send any food items in for your child's birthday. It is our
practice not to include food in our birthday celebrations. We will have a special snack and special activities throughout the year to celebrate different holidays and our 100th day of school.
We are looking forward to being a part of your child's learning, getting to know your family and making learning fun!
Important Information
* Please send your child's folder in each day along with a healthy snack and something to drink. We have library on Thursdays. Please return library books by Thursday!
