Miss Sabrina's Fireflies

  Fireflies

                               Welcome to the Firefly classroom.

I am so happy to have your child join our classroom.  We are big into songs, dancing, arts and crafts and bouts of silliness.

About our curriculum:
"The Creative Curriculum" has been adopted by LEEP and continues to be implemented in the classroom.  Designed for early childhood programs serving children ages 3-5, it is a research-based curriculum implemented through developmentally appropriate practice, and meets new standards for addressing academic content.  We love that it builds upon the interests of the children and lessons can be designed to include all learners.

We are having a lot of fun in the classroom.  Here are a few reminder:

-August 31st- Meet and Greet with your LEEP Teacher (times sent out in welcome letter)
-Sept. 3rd to Sept. 6th- No School (Labor Day weekend)
-Please remember to call your child out if they are sick.  There is a student line when you call the school to let us know that your child is out sick.
-Have your ID available on you or on whomever is picking up your child from drop off if we do not already know you.  It will take some time to get to know everyone, but we will get to know you over time :)
-If someone new is picking up your child, please send me a quick email, write a note, or inform the office so that we will be aware of the change and look for that person.  We will need to check their ID as well until we get to know them :)

Here is a look at what we will be learning this month:
- The Circle Shape
- The Color Red
- The Number 1
- All About Me (body parts, labeling)

- Positions and Directions of lines *This is more for Pre-K to get ready for the Handwriting without Tears Program starting next month.  A packet will go home about that later*
